Ek Paheli Leela is the story of Karan (Jay Bhanushali), Meera (Sunny Leone) and Prince Ranveer Singh (Mohit Ahlawat). Meera is a supermodel who goes to Rajasthan to shoot an ad campaign. During her time there, she falls in love with Prince Ranveer Singh and ends up marrying him. Karan is an upcoming musician who has unpleasant dreams about his previous life. With the help of a guruji, he manages to trace the story of his previous life back to the ruins of Rajasthan, where he finds out how Meera and Ranveer’s present and previous lives are intertwined with his. A flashback in time tells us the story of a two lovers, Leela and Shravan (Rajneesh Duggal). A renowned sculptor, Bhairav (Mukul Dev) is attracted to Leela, and decides to carve out her image in precious stone. What follows is the story of how Leela, Shravan, Bhairav and his statue affect the lives of Meera, Karan, and Ranveer.

The highlight of Ek Paheli Leela is that the film doesn’t dwell on the flashbacks for too long. The plot begins shakily, but tightens up around the interval and keeps the viewer intrigued till the very end. Sunny Leone looks brilliant, but is yet to master the fine nuances of acting. Rajneesh Duggal fits the part of Meera’s lover from her previous lifetime. Jay and Mohit have considerably improved as actors. Shivani Tanksale, who steps out of her comfort zone, is wasted in the film.

Ek Paheli Leela has endorsed Rajasthan in an excellent manner by beautifully capturing all of it, ranging from the palaces to the dunes. For the music, Meet Bros have unsuccessfully tried to revive their Baby Doll magic with a couple of item songs. However, what has worked are the recreated versions of ’90s songs like Dhol Baaje and Main Hoon Deewana Tera.
